Hey,

I'm James.

From grass-roots

beginnings.

I am an avid outdoorsman and enjoy skiing in the winters and riding my bike and fishing in the summers. I spent a few years exploring the rocky mountains before returning home to Vermont. I love capturing and documenting memorable moments and exploring new places. Photography began for me in the pre-iPhone days with a pocket sized point and shoot camera. I think it was an Olympus. But the hobby grew deep roots and within a few years I graduated up to a digital SLR. I figured that this would be a great companion on my adventures post high school. I had no idea then where photography would take me. Over the last ten years I have traveled around the world and across the United States, always with my camera in tow.

To capturing key moments.

In 2016 I landed in Missoula, Montana where I studied photography at the Rock Mountain School of Photography. Since then I have been working to capture special moments for people around the country whether it be a surprise proposal, a wedding day or candid moments with friends. I love to collaborate with people and come up with creative ways that help capture their unique qualities. Photography is fun and it should be whether you are behind the lens or in front of it. Life is full of incredible little moments, some of which we don't often see. My job is to see those moments and bring them into focus to preserve them.

The Process

01. Connect

Photography is about connection. Whether that be between a subject and the landscape or the viewer and the subject. Photos should tell a story.

What story do you want to tell?

02. Conceptualize

What do you love, what makes you unique, what are you passionate about? These are all pieces of your puzzle and will inform some of the images we create.

Develop Your Vision

03. Create

This is where the magic happens!
